Operations Manager - Restoration in Superior Restoration
- Four year degree in business management or a similar field, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MBA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 year experience of general operation management / or comparable experience.
- Technical skills in insurance repair and restoration required
- Minimum of 5 – 7 yrs work experience in restoration services.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Coaching, mentoring experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent group facilitation / presentation skills
- Proven negotiation skills
Under direction from the Division General Manager, directs and coordinates the restoration function at the division level. Follows Restoration Guidelines established by the National Director of Restoration Services.
- Establishes maintains and supports company policies and procedures;
- Makes hiring, performance, and disciplinary determinations; oversees divisional restoration operations ensure maximum operational effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and employee safety. Monitors performance data; anticipates, prevents and solves problems.
- Directs, schedule and monitor work of restoration staff members at the Division.
- Due to the nature of restoration work, must be available to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner. This includes being available anytime to help coordinate the Restoration Department’s response to an emergency. Include the availability to travel on short-notice.
- Provide training and direction to restoration staff.
- Ensure any certification required is obtained and current.
- Directs and ensures proper coordination of all restoration department administrative affairs.
- Markets to appropriate sources of business as directed by General Manager.
- Determines feasibility of work, based on insurance coverage and nature of damage.
- Inspects job site to establish the initial scope of work, confirms with insured and adjuster and arranges access to job.
- Take job measurements and notes for invoicing.
- Determines the need for subcontractors; schedules directly with customer and confirms with General Manager.
- Recruits and qualifies subcontractors.
- Build relationships with referral sources, keeping up-to-date on all corporate referral programs.
- Follows established control systems, or assists in developing, implementing and maintaining such systems.
- Secures signed work authorization prior to commencing work.
- Provides complete written scope of work along with any supporting pictures or diagrams to GM .
- Provides written changes in work scope to GM
- Fields customer questions & concerns, resolving all issues, or working with appropriate staff until issues are resolved.
- Develops WIP report for Active Projects.
- Invoices projects all varieties of projects including but not limited to Fire, Water, Mold, and Asbestos.
- Supports organizational teamwork and acts as an advocate for corporate values.
- Meets corporate standards for attendance and timeliness.
- Maintain a high level of personal grooming and appearance.
- Wear a clean, neat, and proper company uniform every day.
- Meet company standards for attendance and punctuality.
- Maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the company.
- Attend training meetings as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

This position at time is physically demanding. There is extensive walking, standing, stooping, and bending. Traveling to each job location requires the safe operation of a company vehicle. At times the Manager will assist other Restoration staff members in setting up the job site, or performing the work. The equipment must be unloaded from the vehicle and carried to the worksite. The equipment weighs approximately 50 pounds. At times equipment may need to be carried up stairs and down hallways.
