Dryer Vent Cleaning in Las Vegas, NV
Did you know clogged dryer vents are a leading cause of household fires?
Over time, accumulated lint can overheat and ignite, causing a potentially devastating fire. One call to COIT can help secure the health and safety of your home.
The results? A safer home, shorter drying cycles, and lower energy bills.
Why you should clean your dryer vents regularly
A staggering amount of house fires are caused by clogged dryers each year
According to the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), U.S. fire departments responded to an estimated 15,970 fires between 2010-2014 involving dryers or washing machines. 2,900 home clothes dryer fires are reported annually and cause an estimated five deaths, 100 injuries, and $35 million in property loss
Failure to clean is the leading cause of dryer fires
According to the NFPA, the leading contributor to the ignition of house fires involving dryers is failure to clean, accounting for one-third (33%) of dryer fires.
Protect your family
Dryer fires are life-threatening and dangerous, but avoiding them is possible. Keep your family safe and be proactive in preventing dryer fires by getting vents routinely cleaned.
Lower energy bills
Improved dryer airflow reduces the amount of energy needed to dry clothing. Less time spent drying = decreased energy use = lower energy bills.
Extended the life of your clothes
Over time, heat and friction from dryers can cause wear and tear on clothing. Regularly cleaning vents will improve drying times, meaning you get to enjoy your favorite clothes for longer.
Improve air quality
When vents become clogged, lint particles, dust, and other allergens are forced into your home’s air circulation. Routine dryer vent cleaning improves air quality by reducing the amount of irritants in the air.
Peace of mind
As part of our services, COIT installs a LintAlert Dryer Safety Alarm, which monitors your dryer’s exhaust system and alerts you to any potential problems—meaning you can sleep easy knowing your family is protected.
COIT's Dryer Vent Cleaning Process
- We first inspect the dryer and turn it on to make sure it’s functioning properly. As it’s running, we go outside to the exhaust vent to see if the airflow is making its way through the tube. This lets us know how congested the tube is or if there is a potential disconnect or leak.
- From the outdoor vent access point, we use our reversed compressed air whip to extract any lint, repeating this process until we reach as deep into the vent as possible or until no further lint is removed.
- Once we have performed the cleaning from the outside, we go back to the inside, turn the dryer off, and inspect the lint filter exhaust area of the dryer, cleaning out internal filters from inside the appliance. If possible, we will safely pull out the dryer to access the connections to the exhaust vent.
- With the dryer pulled out, we vacuum and clean behind the dryer. We remove the connection from the dryer and attach an adapter that allows us to extract lint from inside the vent exhaust while inserting compressed air whips.
- When there’s no more lint being extracted from inside the unit, we reconnect the dryer to the exhaust vent and confirm all connections are secure.
- As the final step, we run the dryer again to ensure it’s working properly and all airflow is making its way through the exhaust tube.
